  Concerning the OP, I suppose it depends on what you mean by "major problem". In my opinion, I think Jihadism and lone "mass shooters" are a far bigger problem. And I think our governments resources have been rightly prioritized to address these threats.

  That being said, I do think White Nationalism is both dangerous and on the rise. I feel the same way about WN as I do about mainstream Islam - that is to say; the vast bulk White Nationalists are not terrorist. But it's unimaginably problematic that they often provide cover and fuel to those who do carry out these acts of hate, harm, and murder.

  Why are we supposed to believe and just roll over when people shout "science denier" when the same people don't think babies are alive or that men and women are different?

  Please point me to a single person on here who has said that babies aren't alive. Oh, what's that, you can't because no one has EVER said that? Stop obfuscating and start addressing what people are actually saying. Your persistent "whataboutism" is getting tedious.

  I didn't say the warming was unprecedented. I said the rate of warming is unprecedented. And this is the problem. Our atmosphere and oceans have risen in temperature more over the past 100 years than it has in the past 100,000 years. The earth goes through natural cycles of warming and cooling - over geological spans. Not human lifetime spans.

  This is a problem because it doesn't give ecosystems time to adapt results in mass extinctions, desertification, and stronger and stronger weather systems (i.e. less habitable to humans).

  The oceans have risen an average of 3 inches worldwide since the 1990s. This is demonstrable with measurable accuracy and is not contested by anyone in the field. Asserting that it must not be happening because you haven't personal noticed it is not a fair argument.

  And low lying cities are starting to see this. Miami is flooding more and more regularly. And sand has to be trucked in to build up it's beaches higher and higher. The longer this goes on for, the more problems with flooding were going to have from rising sea levels.

And, fortunate for those of us who are here today, our parents and grandparents didn't bury their heads in the sand saying "Well, you know it could be a liberal conspiracy."   Go look up images of any metropolitan area in the 1970s and you'll see dark hazy smog. But do you know what else happened in the 1970s? The EPA was created!!! This is why our cities don't look like this anymore. Congress and the Executive took heed of what the scientists were saying and prevented a total disaster - which is the exact same thing US should be doing right now.

  The JWs use many cheap rhetorical tricks and ascribe to a dogmatic view of the world. I really don't see what all the hub-bub about "morph's law" is.

  If people are running around on this forum disparaging other peoples motives, using loaded language, or putting forth black and white thinking than it's wholly appropriate to call them out on it. Though, from a pragmatic point of view, I do agree we'd get a lot further with such folks if we actually pointed out the flaws in their position instead of simply asserting "you're sound like the Watchtower."

  Skepticism is a demand for evidence.

  If you want evidence that our oceans and atmosphere are warming at an unprecedented rate compared to anytime in history - then there are dozens and dozens of scientific papers I can point you to. And if you want evidence that releasing CO2 into our atmosphere is the driving cause of this temperature increase - then there are yet more scientific papers I can point you to.

  However, if the purpose of this thread is just for you to bash MSNBC - and for liberals to turn around and bash Fox News - then can we all just agree CNN sucks and be done with it?

  When I was a JW this is the exact sort of thing that would have really bothered me. I remember going to a Rainbow Vacuum "sell our products" pitch and feeling incredibly awkward at how similar it was to a the weekly Book Study.

  If your neighbors start shooting at your house regularly it might be wise to invest in Kevlar and bullet resistant glass. If the nearby residents then acquire high caliber riffles and machine guns it would probably be a good idea to upgrade to ceramic plating and transparent aluminium. If your neighbors begin lobbing RPGs your way it might be wise to replace your fence with an earthen berm. And if they start launching mortars and rockets at you . . . well there comes a point where enough is just enough.

  I think we can all agree that after forty years - the "two state solution" has failed both inceptively and accumulatively. It is long past time for Hamas and any other genocidal leaning Palestine to be served their eviction notice. Either make nice with the Jews or find somewhere else to practice your murdering psychopathy.

  There are only 3 Muslim's in the US congress. I don't see how this is a "disproportionate membership". While making up over 1% of the US population Muslims only have only a 0.6% representation in congress. Conversely, Jews have 34 elected members (6.4% representation) but only make up 2% of the population.

  Also, if we're going to talk about anti-semitisim in US politics - we need to talk about Donald Trump who called the NeoNazis in Charlottesville "very fine people".
